http://cockrobinskiller.blogspot.com/

I've started my fashion blog :) It will be updated more frequenty than this one. (mainly because I have to wear clothes everyday while crafting is done when I feel like it!)

New clothes!

I'm still on a fairy kei clothing kick. I want to make a whole waredrobe so I could dress that way every day if I wanted :)

Photobucket
The original art is by me, scanned and made into a transfer. The polka dot ric-rack is from Hobby Lobby (the have the best ribbons/trims!). you can see my original drawing in an earlier post.

Photobucket
This isn't for a particaulr style- it's a 'just because' dress :) Made from one of my mom's old 70s patterns. 70s patterns are the best! I wish they reproduced them today.

New fairy kei blouse

Photobucket

I found the blouse at the Salvation Army. I thought it was very cute, but it had stains on it. I did some designs in felt to cover the stains. Sewing on the tiny buttons was very tedious. I'm really happy with it!
The tiny buttons are from Micheals and the chibi jungle animal ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

Gothic lolita headdress

Photobucket

One of the main things I sell at cons are lolita headdresses. Usually, I make sweet style; this is my first gothic one. I'm very happy with it.

Art

Long time, no see. I've been crafting, only it's so second nature for me that I don;t realise I'm doing it and forget to post! lol

I'm scrambling to get ready for my table at Castle Point Anime Con (CPAC)!

Photobucket

I'm designing another fairy kei shirt for myself. Instead of using 80s character art, i drew my own pic this time.

I do ATCs on the MLP forums. These are for last winter on the MLPTP.

Skipper as Rin

Custom Skipper doll as Rin from Vocaloid

I had the outfit done for months. Last night, I finally finished rehairing the head. Doing a rehair is fun, but it gets repetitive so I need to put it away for a while sometimes ^^;;

Her hair is nylon in the color Napalm from Dolly Hair. Factory Barbies are haired in saran or kanekalon, but I'm most comfortable with nylon because of the way it styles and the color choices. Actually, my most favorite hair to reroot with is acetate, but it only comes in a few colors.

dollyhair.com is so addictive lol I could go on there for hours and dream about Barbie and MLP customs |D

Next Vocaloid will be Miki since I already bought the hair. Next Barbie custom in general will be Alice from Heart no Kuni!

I totally take commissions ;D

Rings and clips

I made a few rings! It was my first time making them. My fingers are super skinny so I had a hard time figuring out how to adjust them to fit me lol Pliers are the way to go!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I'll be selling the red bird ring at CPAC. All the others are for me to keep. Ofcourse I'd be willing to take a custom order on them if you want one too!

Photobucket
Candy heart clips.

Photobucket
"Whippy Dear" clips? No? Maybe I won't look to Angelic Pretty for name inspiration XD

I'm not sure whether I'll copy these to sell or not. I love them, but clips don't sell well at cons. ):

I thought this blog could use a little variety, so from now on I'll also share photos of my craft book collection.

Here's a little something I picked up today:

Hair pieces and doll clothes

Photobucket
Dolly kei hair I made for my self. It was made on a sudden whim so it's all stuff I already had.

Photobucket
Mori girl hair piece. I should've put something by it for scale. It's a very tiny doll hat. It's on a clip.

Photobucket
Lolita clip. I may be keeping this for myself.

Doll skirt

Photobucket

A skirt for my MSD sized girl, Rosamund. It's a gathered rectangle. It dawned on me that I could make her lolita skirts this way in the future when I feel like it.

The rest of her clothes are from Doll Heart.

Littlest petshop skirt

Fairy kei style :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Fabric is from Wal Mart. The ribbons has clouds and rainbows on it; it's from AC Moore.

The skirt pattern was actually a vintage pattern from the 70s. My mom has boxes of 70s patterns, so it's always much easier for me to use them than to go out and pay for a new pattern.

Hairband and bracelets were made by a super rad friend <3 If I was wearing this out, I'd wear a necklace but I wanted to make sure you could see the shirt. Photobucket
Furry hair bow. I'll be honest and say that my mom croqueted it. I just did the heart buttons and gluing the clip on. The buttons all have conversation heart messages on them.

Unicorn bracelet

I made this a few days ago but forgot to show it! Oh dear.

Photobucket

It's supposed to remind one of a playset. The unicorn comes with a mirror and brush! Batteries not included.
I'll be wearing it with dolly kei. Most of my lolita outfits are too light for a dark bracelet.

Photobucket

Dolly kei pin. I stuck it to my tassel.

More fairy kei shirts

Photobucket
Fraggles is probably my favorite 80s kiddy property after My Little Pony. I'm so excited to be able to pay tribute to it!
The fur trim was hand dyed in purple Rit dye by me. My hands were purple :D

Photobucket
Another MLP shirt.

Photobucket
Strawberry Shortcake.
I actually only liked SSC a little as a kid. I had SCC herself and Blueberry Muffin (my fave), but had only watched a little of the cartoon. However, I find the vintage artwork very charming.

I don't think you need a tutorial because the pictures are just transfer paper and anyone can pick out trim :)

Face up fun

I collect ball jointed dolls and I really enjoy painting the face up (face paint/make up) on my self.

I'm sure if you are into BJDs you already know how to do this and if you don't own one it's probably not something you need to know, so no tips here.

I just thought I'd share my personal style. I've been able to give my dolls just the personality I want and I don't regret doing it myself at all.

Tie spotlight and tutoial

Photobucket

Out of all the the 'remade' ties I've done that are currently still with me, this one is by far my fave. It's so good, I decided to keep it rather than put it on my next AA table.

I originally made these ties with lolita outfits in mind, but while I've never seen ties used in dolly kei outfits, I absolutely think they would work!

Here's a little tutorial on how to make your own dolly kei tie. Text only since the tie is already made, I clearly can't go back and take pictures :P

You will need:
A nice tie (from the thrift shop, your dad's closet, etc.)
Charms
Ribbon
Lace

First I sew the lace onto the edge of the tie. I like to set my machine to a decorative stitch and use a color of thread that will stand out (I refuse to say 'make it pop' because I am not on HGTV).

After that, I select some charms that I like. This part is very personal and I say just pick charms you love and will feel excited to wear.

I sew the charms on then sew bows over top. I do like the color of the bows to compliment the tie.

Tip: I put Fray Check on the edge of the ribbon so it will not fray. This can be easy to forget, but it makes it much neater.

It's all done! Have fun wearing it!

Matryoshka necklace

Photobucket

Pattern from the book Felties. Inspired by this item on Etsy. I was able to make this in one day from things in my craft bin. I'll try wearing it with some dolly kei outfits.
